Office Developer Conference 2007 – Live Search Presentation

Filed under: Uncategorized — adamclark @ 10:25 am

So last weekend, Chris Armstrong and Myself ran a couple of presentations at the first Office Developer Conference to be held here in Australia. Held at the Microsoft Offices in Sydney it was great to see everyone out and about on their weekends. Our First Presentation was around the Integration of Live Search with the MOSS platform. Chris has put together a high level run down on the Windows Live Integration we include so you can find details over here. So from top to bottom here are the major points that we covered in our Search Presentation:

  • We took a look at some of the Out of the Box Features with MOSS (including how to create and activate search scopes)
  • We reviewed the MOSS 2007 Search Architecture
  • We looked at the components that MOSS search works with (external portal content, BDC, etc)
  • A Demonstration around Searching from within MOSS (see Chris’s Blog Post)
  • We took a quick look at starting a search from the Vista search bar.

In the presentation I also mentioned a search guide for planning MOSS 2007 Search implementations. That document can be found here!
